Art Collectable Objects| Shopping – New Orleans

The Center for the History of Collecting was established at the Frick Art Reference Library. Just like artworks,  museum quality art collectable objects need to be documented, cataloged and exhibited as a part of the art and cultural history of every era of civilization.

New Orleans has, for many years, been a place for collectors to purchase objects for decorative art to use at their homes. Complete museums have been formed to protect and exhibit these objects of decorative art and these objects have become a major player in the sales of the large art auction houses in London and New York.

While in New Orleans, you should seek out and step into these shops selling collectable art, they actually are often like going into a museum.
