Shrimp Cocktail

 

Shrimp Cocktail.

We cook a  2 lb bag of shrimp at a time.

Using a large pot, boil the water.

Add Ole Bay seasoning to turn the water dark red

Put the fresh shrimp in the water, shell and all.

Cook the shrimp until the shells are completely pink.

(Caution: Shrimp cook quickly. Aways pull one shrimp out to taste, you want it to be soft to the bite. If you cook shrimp even a little too much, they will get tough.)

Extract them from the boiling water, using an open scoop drain them in a sieve.

Put the sieve filled w/ shrimp under cold water to stop the cooking,

When cooled, peel and devein the shrimp, leaving the tails on.

Cocktail Sauce can be bought or made using catsup and creamed horseradish.

Serve the shrimp cocktail in a martini glass or an official shrimp cocktail bowl with ice.
