Denverite Jim Milmoe Paints Abstract Art with his Camera

Denver Photographer Jim Milmoe notices compositions as he drives, walks and travels. Then with a precise crop through the viewfinder and a quick click of the shutter a “Photo Painting” is created. These photos are abstract in design, but one could not call them non-objective because they are not inventions of the mind, but real walls and signs we all view, but few notice their artistic qualities.

James 0. Milmoe is a renowned photographic artist whose work is featured in many museums, private and corporate collections. He is also an internationally respected photographer of fine art, paintings and sculpture.

A resident of Colorado for over 67 years, Milmoe began his photography of fine art before moving to Colorado from Pennsylvania. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado College and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Denver. His photographs of paintings and sculptures have appeared in major books, catalogs, magazines and newspapers around the world in Europe, China, Russia, and the United States.
